Unique handmade ceramic wall plaque inspired by original 'Pillar Portrait' by Branwell Brontë
Contemporary version of the now very old and creased 'Pillar Portrait' which was originally painted on to paper by Branwell Brontë, the brother of the famous literary legends Charlotte, Emily, and Anne, circa 1834. The painting is famous because it is the only picture found showing the sisters all together. Their brother Branwell originally included himself in the family group picture but later painted himself out, replacing his figure with the large, ghostly pillar we see today. The original is part of the collection at the National Portrait Gallery in London, though it frequently makes visits back home to the Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth.
